Aoife O’Donovan

Josh Ritter and Aoife O’Donovan have joined forces for a new duet version of Ritter’s song, “Strong Swimmer.” Listen/share HERE. Recorded remotely between their home studios, the duet is the product of a longtime dream for the friends and neighbors, who have wanted to find an opportunity to work together for many years.

Aoife O’Donovan will perform Bruce Springsteen’s album Nebraska solo in its entirety. The New York Times described Aoife’s performance of the album as "saluting Springsteen’s songcraft with clear, pitch-perfect articulation and affable delivery.”  The live album is available digitally only via Aoife’s Bandcamp. Aoife will also perform several songs from her catalogue and 3x Grammy nominated album Age of Apathy. These will be the final shows of the Nebraska 2023 tour.

The performance is essential Aoife: delicately expressive phrasings, instinctive accompaniment, and the elemental power of that voice cast against sparse instrumentation.

As a 30+ year Del McCoury Band member and a founding member of the Travelin’ McCourys, fiddle player Jason Carter has made a lot of friends and fans throughout his heavily-awarded career. But never before have all of his friends, from all of the years, joined Carter for his own solo album. That is, until now.

Philadelphia Folk Festival has announced the initial lineup for its 60th anniversary event taking place August 18-21, 2022 at its idyllic home, Old Pool Farm, just north of Philadelphia. The weekend-long celebration will include headlining appearances from hip-hop fusion mavericks Michael Franti & Spearhead, Punch Brothers (reviving their celebrated American Acoustic ensemble featuring Americana heavyweights Watchhouse and Sarah Jarosz), and Americana-soul sensations The War and Treaty.
