Aoife O’Donovan

Today, Aoife O’Donovan stars in an all new NPR Tiny Desk that features the GRAMMY- and Americana Award-winning singer and songwriter performing songs from her acclaimed, Joe Henry-produced (Bonnie Raitt, Rhiannon Giddens) new album Age Of Apathy. As ever, the performance is filled with “musical surprises: daring melodic leaps, unexpected chord progressions, [and] subtle rhythmic shifts” (NY Times).

Like so many parents with young children, Aoife O’Donovan listens to lots of children’s movie soundtracks. Today, however, she pays tribute to one of her new favorites with a special cover version of “What Else Can I Do?”, the Lin-Manuel Miranda-penned original song from Disney’s Encanto.

GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter and musician Gregory Alan Isakov will kick off his spring headline tour next month with shows at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre, Milwaukee’s Pabst Theater, Detroit’s Royal Oak Music Theatre, Atlanta’s The Tabernacle and two nights at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium among many others. Tickets for the tour, which will feature special guests Joe Purdy and Aoife O’Donovan, are on-sale now.

Aoife O’Donovan shares Age Of Apathy (Yep Roc Records), an acclaimed new album produced by GRAMMY-winner Joe Henry (Bonnie Raitt, Rhiannon Giddens).

Today, Aoife O’Donovan releases “B61”, an arresting ode to apocalyptic refuge and the bittersweet nature of remembering. Written while lamenting the loneliness of mid-winter lockdown, the track shimmers with the fading intimacy of the Brooklyn bars Aoife loved. “how will i know if i’m the last one alive?” she sings, wavering between warm harmonies and more urgent melodies, “for forty one days and as many nights / i’ll be standing where we stood under an indigo sky.”

Today, GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan shares “Age Of Apathy,” the haunting title track from her first studio album in six years, out January 21, 2022 on Yep Roc Records. As O’Donovan’s hypnotizing vocals wander across sparse but beautiful instrumentation, her lyrics recount memories of a distant New England summer when a relationship was transformed. “Hold me like you held me on the day the towers fell,” she sings, searching for a greater lesson to pull from a small gesture in the shadow of tragedy.

GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter Aoife O’Donovan shares “Prodigal Daughter,” the latest preview of her new album Age Of Apathy (out January 21 on Yep Roc Records). Featuring Allison Russell and co-written with Tim O’Brien, “Prodigal Daughter” recasts the biblical parable as a multigenerational tale of abandonment and tentative reconciliation.

Aoife O’Donovan — the GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter known not only for her own "gorgeous" (Rolling Stone) solo music but her esteemed work with I'm With Her, The Goat Rodeo Sessions, and many more — announces the January 21, 2022 release of her new album Age Of Apathy.

Today, Grammy-winner Aoife O’Donovan has released two new, original songs — “More Than We Know” and “Captain’s Clock.” It’s the debut of a collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Joe Henry (Rhiannon Giddens, Bonnie Raitt) that will yield more music in the coming months. “More Than We Know” was co-written by Henry, and features special guests The Milk Carton Kids.
