Omnivore Recordings will release definitive compilations by three giants of country and rockabilly music — Wanda Jackson, Merle Haggard and George Jones — on February 12, 2013.

2012 saw the release of critically acclaimed album A Thing Called Divine Fits, by what, ostensibly, could be called a “super-group.”  Divine Fits is the new project comprised of Britt Daniel (Spoon), Dan Boeckner (Handsome Furs/Wolf Parade), Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks) and keyboardist Alex Fische.

Dumpstaphunk's Post-Phish NYE jam with the Jennifer Hartswick Band has been canceled at Stage 48 (promoter change at the venue)... on the flip side they'll be with their friends and family in The Funky Meters at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY instead!

The Lee Boys are the finest “sacred steel” ensembles I’ve ever had the pleasure to see. Within just a few notes, I and everyone I was with for the evening knew The Lee Boys had something special happening.  The band members include three brothers, Alvin Lee , Derrick Lee and Keith Lee.  They are joined by their nephews Roosevelt ‘The Doctor” Collier, Alvin Cordy Jr., and Earl Walker.

Hailed as one of the most innovative and respected musicians in his field for over 40 years, banjo master Tony Trischka has been awarded a $50,000 USA Fellowship grant from United States Artists.  Every year, United States Artists invites leaders in nearly every artistic discipline to submit names of artists they believe show extraordinary talent and commitment to their craft.
