There’s a lot to know about the who, what and why for this year’s Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Music Festival. The number one ‘who’ is you: you should be there. What? Yes…you. Why? Because Mulberry Mountain and all its musical wonder will never leave you, even if you eventually leave the mountain. The tagline for Wakarusa, another great festival on Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas, is ‘Where music meets nature.’ That holds true for this festival, too.
Thomas Dolby, the multi-Grammy™ nominated artist and producer, takes his new live show — part film, part concert, part transmedia event — on the road this fall. Each show will be a unique event that cannot be replicated outside of Dolby’s theater performance.In a 20-date tour of historic arthouse cinemas and independent film festivals, Dolby will perform a live narration and musical score in front of a projected film image, accompanied by Foley artist/musician/sound designer Blake Leyh. Severn Records announces an October 15 release date for My Street, the debut album from Baltimore-based soul and blues singer Ursula Ricks. The album was recorded at Severn’s new state-of-the-art studios in Annapolis, produced by David Earl and Steve Gomes and features horn arrangements by Chicago legend Willie Henderson.
