Stony Plain Records announces a September 15 release date for You Should Have Known, a digital single from legendary Canadian western singer-songwriter Ian Tyson. The song unapologetically celebrates the hard living, hard drinking, hard loving cowboy life.

Written by Nashville's Pat McLaughlin and featuring veteran session-man Charlie McCoy, the song yodels, slides and two-steps through the country music foothills, peaking with the raw emotions of a lifestyle that's increasingly rare.

Desmond Jones has been in the studio for over six months, planning, recording, and finishing up their debut studio album. This week the band released the lead single called “Good Song." Recorded in Webberville, MI at Inmuso Studios with Kevin McKay, Desmond Jones will feature 8 original songs, a wide variety of instrumentation, and unique musical compositions.

Guitarist Felix Rentschler, bassist Edwin Hurwitz, and drummer Jonathan Abel met at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1983. A few years later, after graduation, Edwin brought his friends in to fire up blues band Graffiti, featuring Jeff Grove on tenor sax and vocals. The seeds of Shockra chemistry were sown. Graffiti made some forays into the Boston bar scene, but Felix, Edwin, Jeff, and Jonathan wanted to break free of the blues genre and, after adding "Spaceship" Dan Coutu on keyboards, Shockra was born.

On his new album, Dirt Road Confessional, Jeffery Straker continues push the boundaries of what it means to be a piano balladeer. With themes both contemplative and joyous, the 12- song collection encapsulates the seasoned Saskatchewan singer/songwriter's experiences of playing over 200 shows around the world since the release of his previous album, 2015’s North Star Falling.

Rise & Shine, SIMO’s new album, widens their sound, as the band stretched beyond preconceived notions and produced a nuanced record reflecting their views, talents and ultimately their growth.
