Miami Dade College’s (MDC) MDC Live Arts and Rhythm Foundation will co- present an evening of Persian classical music with Sahba Motallebi and Naghmeh Farahmand at 8 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the North Beach Bandshell.

A permanent fixture in the world of Rhythm and Soul, James Hunter follows up five critically acclaimed albums with his latest recording, Whatever It Takes, for New York City's venerable label, Daptone Records. At the height of his famed recording career, Hunter and Daptone co-founder and producer Bosco Mann recorded an elegantly crafted collection of 10 originals that are evermore poignant and compelling than the singer's previous works.

Jon Stickley Trio is a genre-defying and cinematic instrumental trio, who’s deep grooves, innovative flatpicking, and sultry-spacy violin moves the listener’s head, heart, and feet. “It’s not your father’s acoustic-guitar music—although Stickley’s pop showed him his first chords when he was 12 years old. Paramount Network presents “I Am MLK Jr.,” a documentary on the life and legacy of our country’s legendary statesman, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Premiering, Monday April 2 (8:00-10:00pm ET/PT), the film will tell the story and celebrate the life of this American icon from an engaging contemporary perspective structured around seminal events of the Civil Rights Movement.
