The past two years have been pretty strange for all of us, but particularly so for Dave Brandwein, co-founder of powerfunk band Turkuaz. After 10 steady years of touring as festival mainstays, the band suddenly splintered while on the road with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew, marking the 40-year anniversary of the Talking Heads’ classic Remain in Light album. Amidst a pandemic-induced shutdown, the dissolution of his marriage, and a stint in rehab, Brandwein moved from Brooklyn, NY, to Los Angeles, California, to pick up the pieces.

The inaugural TidalWave Music Festival hosted a capacity audience this past weekend. The three-day beachfront “Roar On The Shore" took place on the Atlantic City Beach in New Jersey with headliners Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen and Dierks Bentley helping establish the festival’s first year. TidalWave partnered with Rock The Ocean to help generate awareness and raise funds for ocean conservation. While onsite fans could visit the festival’s “Conservation Village” offering interactive activities and opportunities to learn how fans can help save the oceans.

Who doesn’t love choice? With two dozen live performances on three stages, a popular 4,400-square-foot dance floor, and food from Thailand to Narragansett Bay, Rhythm & Roots offers up the options.

Sound Summit, a musical gathering like no other, announces the return of the daylong festival set on the slopes of Mt. Tam on Saturday, October 22. Featuring a day of great music amidst the Bay Area’s favorite season, Sound Summit’s lineup includes The New Yorker-named “best American rock band of this decade,” The War On Drugs; critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Faye Webster;  beloved indie folk-rockers Fruit Bats; and soulful local ensemble Wreckless Strangers.

Chris Antonik, the blues-rock, guitar wielding, singer-songwriter from Toronto has released his new album, Morningstar. The 14-track album features guest artists such as 2x-GRAMMY Award-winner Mike Mattison (Tedeschi Trucks Band, Derek Trucks Band), multiple-Maple Blues Award-winning guitarist Paul Deslauriers, Juno Award-nominee Alison Young and 3x-Blues Music Award nominee Jarekus Singleton.

Announced today, JEFF BECK will tour the U.S. this fall in support of the newly released, highly anticipated musical collaboration with Johnny Depp, 18. The tour will kick off on September 23 in Del Valle, TX where Beck will share the bill for the first six shows with longtime musical friends, ZZ Top. BECK will then continue on for his headline dates in Atlanta on October 1 continuing up the east coast hitting DC, Boston and the New York area before heading west with several mid-west stops before heading to the west coast.
