Now based in Nashville but originally from Louisville, Colorado, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist Andy Sydow is thrilled to announce the release of his new album, Night Skin. Produced by renowned Americana and blues artist Anders Osborne, Night Skin delves deep into themes of love, loss, and life’s graceful impermanence. To celebrate this highly anticipated release, Sydow will headline Denver’s iconic Bluebird Theater on January 3, 2025, marking his second full-band performance at the venue.

A Dynamic Americana Sound and Poetic Realism
Over the past decade, Sydow has cultivated a distinct blend of folk, rock, and Americana. Drawing influence from Jason Isbell, Dawes, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Paul Simon, his lyrics possess a poetic realism that resonates deeply with audiences. Joining him on Night Skin are Casandra Faulconer on bass, Mike Dillon on drums and percussion, and engineer Justin Tocket.

“Night Skin” – A Three-Day Studio Revelation
Recorded in just three days at Dockside Studio in Maurice, LA, Night Skin captures Sydow’s most dynamic and expressive work to date. Each of the nine tracks unfolds with an honesty gleaned from years on the road, late-night reflections, and countless hours behind a keyboard. Standout singles “Every Little Thing about Love” (36.2k+ streams) and “Follow the Rain Down” (22.6k+ streams) exemplify this delicate intersection of heartache and hope. The album’s title track, “Night Skin,” currently at #100 on the CDX AAA chart, has found a home on stations like KVYN-FM in St. Helena, California, and WSGE-FM in Dallas, North Carolina.

A Fan-Funded Project and Artistic Kinship
Night Skin is a testament to the power of collaboration—fan-funded on Kickstarter, it blossomed under Osborne’s production expertise and Sydow’s lyrical vulnerability. The two artists first connected years ago through Sydow’s admiration of Osborne’s visceral performances. After a series of serendipitous encounters—watching Osborne’s transformative set in Telluride as a teenager, opening for him at the Caribou Room, and ultimately connecting over a cover song—Sydow seized the opportunity to ask Osborne to produce.

A Critical and Public Favorite
Sydow’s work has garnered praise across the board. We Write About Music called his artistry “a masterclass in Americana, blending acoustic finesse with heartfelt storytelling.” Publications like Stereo Stickman and Daily Music Spin commend Sydow’s timeless sound and emotive songwriting, while recent radio interviews on WBSD-FM in Wisconsin and an interview/performance at KRFC-FM in Fort Collins have expanded his reach. His music’s authenticity and sincerity have earned him finalist positions in renowned songwriting contests such as the 2024 Telluride Troubadour Contest and the 2023 Kerrville New Folk Competitions.

Sharing the Stage with Legends and Beyond
Sydow’s performance pedigree is impressive. He has graced the stages of prestigious festivals and venues, including WMOT-FM’s show at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley and has shared bills with Shane Smith & The Saints, Dick Dale, Samantha Fish, and Anders Osborne himself. Recently, he received a standing ovation opening for John Hiatt at the Boulder Theater and will join Hiatt again at the Oriental Theater on November 19. His television appearances on Fox31 Denver and Fox 21 Colorado Springs have further solidified his place in the Americana scene.

A Homecoming to the Bluebird Theater
On January 3, 2025, Sydow returns to the Bluebird Theater to showcase Night Skin live, presented by 105.5 The Colorado Sound and The Colorado Playlist. The night’s lineup includes Mike Ring—who opened for Sydow at his previous Bluebird headlining show—and indie folk band The Regular. Reflecting on the significance of this milestone, Sydow says, “I grew up going to Bluebird shows. Headlining it for the first time last summer was absolutely surreal. To come back and do it again with my band to support a record I made with one of my heroes, Anders Osborne, is just really cool.”
