Every spring, Quiet Valley Ranch shakes off its winter hush and blossoms into a songwriter’s utopia—and this year will be no exception. Organizers of the storied Kerrville Folk Festival have confirmed the complete roster for the event’s 53rd annual gathering, running Thursday, May 22, through Sunday, June 8, 2025. Over the course of 18 consecutive days and nights, more than 100 acts will perform on the festival’s two picturesque stages, continuing a tradition that has made Kerrville the longest consecutively running music festival in the United States.
Weekend headliners balance beloved veterans with fearless innovators. Shovels & Rope, Hayes Carll, Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Fruition, The Band of Heathens, Carsie Blanton, Mia Borders, BettySoo, and Rainbow Girls top the bill, while bluegrass legend Peter Rowan, alt‑country standouts The Wilder Blue, and breakthrough voices Adeem the Artist, The Secret Sisters, Gabe Lee, Handmade Moments, and Yarn deepen the sonic palette. Fans can also catch the gritty stomp of The Hooten Hallers, the forthright storytelling of KC Clifford, the blues‑fueled fire of The Peterson Brothers, and the genre‑hopping energy of Prophets & Outlaws.
Weekday evenings on the intimate Threadgill Stage feature songwriter‑in‑the‑round performances from Tim Easton, Jenny Reynolds, Steve Fisher, R.O. Shapiro, Daniel Neihoff, Eric Noden, Karyn Oliver, and a host of returning Kerrville favorites. South Meadow afternoons will showcase Fox Run Five, Andrew Delaney, Robin Bienemann, Andy Gullahorn, J. Wagner, and more.
Opening weekend once again hosts the revered Grassy Knoll New Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters, a career‑launching showcase that has introduced audiences to future luminaries for five decades. Beyond the official sets, festival‑goers can join daily workshops, an intensive harmonica camp, open‑mic gatherings beneath the Ballad Tree, and famously spontaneous campground jams that often stretch until sunrise.
To accommodate every kind of pilgrim, the nonprofit Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation offers a variety of passes: all‑inclusive 18‑day packages with or without camping, weekend bundles, and single‑day tickets. Quiet Valley Ranch provides shaded tent and RV sites, family camping, craft vendors, and easy access to the Guadalupe River for a mid‑afternoon dip.
