Acclaimed singer-songwriter Josh Phillips, founding member of Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band and Josh Phillips Folk Festival, is proud to announce the release of his new charitable EP, Already Gone,” out now via CommunityZ RecordZ—a 501(c)(3) charitable record label owned and operated by friends and fellow artists SeepeopleS and Sparxsea. All proceeds from the EP will directly benefit BeLoved Asheville (www.belovedasheville.com), supporting relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.

“Already Gone” arrives ahead of Phillips’ forthcoming debut full-length album under his own name, Everything’s Good, slated for release on February 7, 2025. The expanded EP, which includes an instrumental version and a mesmerizing orchestral arrangement featuring the Asheville Symphony, offers a powerful glimpse into the album’s deeply personal themes of loss, transformation, and hope. The accompanying music video, filmed by Fiasco Media and directed by David Saich, beautifully captures the emotional core of the track (watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9NvPZFdd0w).

Phillips originally planned to release Everything’s Good in October 2024, but Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact led him and CommunityZ RecordZ to refocus their efforts on disaster relief. The result is the charitable EP “Already Gone,” with all royalties and proceeds going to BeLoved Asheville. “We decided to partner with CommunityZ RecordZ to use this album that was created in and by our community, and then give back directly to the same community,” says Phillips. “It was a humbling time for all of us, but also a beautiful time of real connectedness and helping each other.”

Recorded over three and a half years, Everything’s Good encapsulates Phillips’ navigation through profound grief, life-altering change, and the widespread upheaval Hurricane Helene brought to his hometown. Yet the album’s overarching message remains rooted in resilience and unity. Collaborating with the Asheville Symphony was a particularly meaningful highlight for Phillips. “Working with the Asheville Symphony was one of the most exhilarating and beautiful memories of my life,” he reflects. “I am forever grateful to Franklin Keel for taking the time to arrange it and to the symphony for capturing this wonderful moment.”

“Already Gone” EP is available now via CommunityZ RecordZ (www.communityzrecordz.com), with the full album Everything’s Good to follow on February 7, 2025. For more information on Josh Phillips, including streaming links, tour dates, and merchandise, please visit:
