Genre-defining, world renowned saxophonist, Colin Stetson is back with the third installment in the History Warfare series. His forthcoming full-length album, New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light, will be released by Constellation worldwide on April 30th, 2013.Pitchfork, who describe Stetson as a "saxophone savant," premiered the first single today, "High Above A Grey Green Sea" and have outlined details on the upcoming record. To See More Light is the final installment in the series and features guest vocals from Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) featured on four tracks of the record. Already gaining early praise, with SPIN delving into the unique recording process and calling it his "most fully realized, technically challenging work," To See More Light is yet another step forward for Stetson, an artist who NPR deems a "prolific sideman...creates vivid, enveloping, challenging, seemingly free-form soundscapes." The album was again recorded in Montreal in single takes and like it's predecessor, was mixed in Iceland with Ben Frost. In addition to the new record, Stetson will tour across North America this spring, playing shows with acclaimed solo violinist Sarah Neufeld (Arcade Fire, The Luyas & Bell Orchestre.) As the New York Times noted of a recent performance, Colin Stetson is "scarily proficient...a one-man astonishment engine" and an artist whose brilliance and ability explodes off the stage.
