Osiris Media launches The Jam Season 3, hosted by Grammy Award-winning music industry leader Jonathan Shank. Known for deep-dive conversations into the heart of jam music and beyond, the podcast’s new season premieres with acclaimed California rock band Dawes and Grammy winner Eric Krasno reflecting on their deep and diverse music influences as well rebuilding their homes, lives, community, and creative spirit after the devastating LA wildfires.
Additional season three guests include Cory Wong, Peter Shapiro & Grahame Lesh, Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), Taper's Choice (Vampire Weekend’s Chris Tomson, Real Estate’s Alex Bleeker and Darkside’s Dave Harrington) with Relix Editor Mike Greenhaus, Tom Hamilton (Joe Russo's Almost Dead), Grace Bowers, and legendary KCRW DJ and reggae historian Roger Steffens, who answers the question: did Bob Marley share his joints?

"Phil Lesh opened my mind; I was so doctrinal in the way that I approached music. He would push you to this place where you had to confront the boundaries you took for granted." - Griffin Goldsmith (Dawes)
Each episode of The Jam will feature artist-inspired playlists and highlight the incredible teams they work alongside. The Jam was inspired by podcasts including Promoter 101 and Questlove Supreme, as well as JEMP Radio. Shank conceived the idea as an outlet for artists and industry stalwarts to tell untold stories, lift up musical heroes and emerging artists, and find the connective tissue between the jam scene and the mainstream. Having worked with everyone from Mickey Hart to Mickey Mouse, he lends an incredibly unique perspective in these free flowing unscripted conversations - taking fans all the way back to the seeds of the scene up through Horde and Bonnaroo to the present.
The first seasons of the podcast featured Randy Jackson, Robby Krieger (The Doors), Devon Allman & Duane Betts, Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane), Rick Mitarotonda (Goose), The Disco Biscuits, Greyboy Allstars, Cymande, and more.
Shank shares: “This season of The Jam really highlights the resiliency and community of the scene. It’s been incredible connecting with old friends and discovering shared experiences with new folks, who are all part of the pulse that keeps it beating. Guests this season range in age from 18 to 82, which gives us a peek into the cross-generational portal this music has transcended for the past 60 years.”
