Since 2001, Dirty Heads have been captivating audiences worldwide by blending hip-hop, reggae, and rock to create a distinct sound that embodies their Southern California roots. Their signature style and infectious energy have propelled the band to remarkable streaming heights—accumulating over 1.29 million digital track sales and an astounding 2.7 billion on-demand streams since 2018. With more than 3.1 million monthly Spotify listeners and a massive social media presence, Dirty Heads continue to establish themselves as one of the most compelling and innovative acts in alternative music today.
Dirty Heads’ global appeal soared in 2021 with the viral resurgence of their 2017 hit “Vacation.” Thanks to the organic #VacationTransition challenge on TikTok, “Vacation” amassed over six billion views and streams across social platforms and saw an 850% surge in Spotify consumption. The band followed this success with a series of crowd-pleasing releases, including their critically acclaimed 2022 album, Midnight Control. The album features 10 all-new tracks, including their modern take on Joe Walsh’s classic “Life’s Been Good,” which quickly became a fan favorite, staying at #3 on BDS for multiple weeks and already surpassing 7.4 million global streams.
The five-piece collective—Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell, Jared “Dirty J” Watson, Jon Olazabal, Matt Ochoa, and Dave Foral—originally formed around a shared love of positive vibes and infectious grooves. They gained widespread recognition with 2008’s Any Port in a Storm, bolstered by the hit single “Lay Me Down” featuring Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome, which set a record for the longest stint at #1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart for an independently released track. Subsequent albums, including Cabin by the Sea, the acoustic Home: Phantoms of Summer, and the chart-topping Sound of Change, solidified Dirty Heads’ status as a formidable force in music. Their self-titled 2016 album and 2017’s Swim Team—containing the original “Vacation” track—further expanded their passionate fan base.
