After ringing in a new year with a 4 show run in Washington State and Portland, OR, Fruition is pleased to announce their first headline shows of 2024. The Hard To Make Money Tour will see the band visit venues in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Oregon, California and Arizona. The band has been hard at work writing and recording new music for future release, with some of those new songs finding their way into setlists for these newly announced shows.
The first of the new songs is out everywhere today. “Hard To Make Money” (Listen Here), the namesake track of the upcoming tour written by Jay Cobb Anderson features lyrics that touch on the feeling that for most, itʻs just hard to get by while others have more than they might need. “yeah some folks take it, some work to make it, and some folks just got good luck/but the poor stay needy while rich stay greedy and they never seem to give a buck/and it’s hard to make money these days “
"There’s too much not-enough going round, and that’s all we seem to get. The American dream’s been sentenced to death by the powers that be. Bees make honey and it never goes bad. Man makes money and it’s never gets better. And it’s hard to make money these days." - Jay Cobb Anderson
Fruitionʻs March dates will feature opener Willy Tea Taylor, who is touring in support of his latest album The Great Western Hangover which features appearances from Fruitionʻs Jay Cobb Anderson on guitar, and production work from Fruition drummer Tyler Thompson.
Support for May shows will be announced soon.
Fruition's three-part harmonies and impromptu performances captivated crowds on street corners and in campgrounds in the Pacific Northwest initially, but their remarkable 15-year journey has seen them emerge as a singular force in the world of Americana on some of the nation's biggest stages. Channeling the delicate, playful, and honest focus on songcraft and vocal harmony of groups like the Beatles and CSNY, the band continues to create timeless and genuine folk, roots, and rock 'n roll.
Distinguished by three accomplished songwriters and a rhythm section that serves each song with a finely tuned attention to detail and aesthetic, Fruition manages to consistently release a body of work that is both uniquely their own and instantly familiar.
Tickets for all newly announced shows will be available at http://www.fruitionband.com 10am PT on Friday, February 9th.
