Hailed by The Wall Street Journal as “among modern music’s most compelling vocalists,” the visionary singer, composer, and transdisciplinary artist GANAVYA will bring her spellbinding artistry to Boulder Theater on Friday, April 4, 2025. Presented by Denver Jazz Fest & Z2 Entertainment, this special performance marks a rare opportunity to experience the depth and devotion of her latest work, Daughter of a Temple, live on stage.

Born in New York and raised in Tamil Nadu, GANAVYA’s musical language is an intricate weave of South Indian classical traditions, spiritual jazz, and contemporary experimentalism. Her work defies easy categorization, drawing inspiration from the musico-philosophies of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda, the improvisational spirit of Wayne Shorter, and the depth of sacred storytelling found in harikatha.

Her new album, Daughter of a Temple, releases November 15, 2024, via Nils Frahm’s esteemed LEITER label, following the powerful impact of her single draw something beautiful earlier this year. Recorded at Houston’s Moore’s Opera House, the album features an extraordinary ensemble, including esperanza spalding, Vijay Iyer, Shabaka Hutchings, Immanuel Wilkins, Peter Sellars, Rajna Swaminathan, and more—all gathered in the spirit of devotion and ritual.

In a performance that promises to be nothing short of revelatory, GANAVYA will transform Boulder Theater into a sacred space of sound and spirit. Expect transcendent vocals, deeply immersive compositions, and a communal experience that echoes the very essence of her musical village.
