JAD Experience Presents VISCERĀLIS: An Immersive Cultural Event for All the Senses

JAD Experience is thrilled to announce VISCERĀLIS, the latest installment in their unique event series that immerses audiences in a transformative experience engaging all the senses. This captivating event will be held on the picturesque hillsides of Tara Firma Farms in Petaluma over two weekends: July 12–14 and July 19–21, 2024.

VISCERĀLIS offers a much-needed antidote to our society's current dilemma of technological isolation by celebrating Visceral Reality. Guests will embark on a remarkable journey, enjoying a transformative dining experience crafted from locally sourced, regeneratively grown food, paired with an enchanting open-air ballet by renowned choreographer and former San Francisco Ballet principal, Julia Adam, and her elite corps of dancers.

JAD Experience is an evolving collaboration between Julia Adam and her husband, Aaron Lucich—a producer, farmer/rancher, and agricultural activist. Together, they have gathered a talented team of artists and artisans to create a transformational experience under the stars, marking their 11th season this July.

VISCERĀLIS explores the contrast between the current expansion of Virtual Reality & Artificial Intelligence and our fundamental need for Visceral Reality and Actual Intelligence through a tangible connection to our community and environment.

"My initial desire to move out of the constraints of the opera house and the challenges of audience engagement in a sterile urban setting 11 years ago is now even more prevalent," said Adam. "Walking through the world on cement with screens in our hands, losing our connection to the earth and each other confirms that what we do is needed now more than ever."

Aaron Lucich added, "I fundamentally believe the further we get away from our connection to the soil, the more isolated we become. This disconnection affects our physical and mental well-being. Our event offers a magical evening as a welcome antidote."

VISCERĀLIS marks the eleventh installment of JAD’s series designed to spark the wisdom of what ties us together through community, art, food, and the natural world. The evenings begin with a multi-course, farm-to-table feast served family-style, featuring transparently sourced food from Sonoma and Marin Counties. The cuisine follows a nose-to-tail approach, and the menu includes robust vegetarian and vegan alternatives. Local purveyors include Tara Firma Farms, Umbel Roots, Feed Sonoma, True Grass Farms, and Holistic Ag. Beverages include wines from Enkidu and Shokrian, beers from Hen House and Moonlight, and house-made non-alcoholic offerings.

After dinner, guests will gather at the open-air stage for the world premiere of VISCERĀLIS, featuring Julia Adam's unique brand of storytelling through dance, spoken word, and song. This performance will deepen the connection between the audience, each other, and the natural world.
