Founding Allman Brothers Band drummer Jaimoe will join Friends of the Brothers for a series of shows this summer after his triumphant return to the stage with them April 27 at the SHU Community Theater in Fairfield Connecticut on April 27. That was Jaimoe’s first on-stage appearance since January 2023. Jaimoe is the last surviving original member of the Allman Brothers Band following Dickey Betts’ April 18 death,
Friends of the Brothers is a celebration of the music of the Allman Brothers band led by three musicians who have close ties to the band. features Junior Mack, who fronted Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band for 15 years and was a regular ABB guest; Andy Aledort, who toured as a member of Dickey Betts and Great Southern for a decade; and Alan Paul, the Allman Brothers Band biographer who is the author of two best-selling books on the group. Jaimoe wrote the Afterword to Paul’s 2014 oral history One Way Out: The Inside History of the Allman Brothers Band and was interviewed extensively for last year’s Brothers and Sisters.

Above and beyond everything, Jaimoe is a monster drummer with a totally unique perspective and style. There’s a reason he was the first person Duane Allman asked to join his band!
