Virginia based quintet Kendall Street Company released their new single Strollin’ available now on all service providers. To celebrate the release (and the warmer weather!) Kendall Street Company has announced a Spring Tour in April spanning from Texas to Pennsylvania.
Kendall Street Company presents their third release of 2021, Strollin', premiered by Living the Fest Life, following praise of their recent studio LP, debut live album, and upbeat Valentine's Day-themed single I rly luv u, from American Songwriter, Relix Magazine, Jambase, Roadie Music, and more. Averaging over 100 shows a year, KSC has been billed on festivals such as Lockn', Floydfest, Roosterwalk, Sweetwater 420, Resonance, as well as shared stages with Leftover Salmon, Ripe, Goose, Moon Taxi, Umphreys McGee and more.
The hiatus in live music and touring due to Covid-19 has allowed the band to write and record a prolific amount of music, as well as explore new storytelling and production techniques. Strollin' was recorded at Graphic Sound in Virginia Beach, VA and mixed by Stewart Myers (Jason Mraz, Parachute, Lifehouse, Mandy Moore) in Richmond, VA. KSC maintains an ambitious release cycle and currently has plans for at least a double LP and another EP for later this year.
In the words of frontman Louis Smith:
"Strollin’ is a song about taking a stroll. As it grooves
along you will find yourself compelled to stroll along with
it, compelled to bop to the beat. The song is also about
saying something. Saying what? Up to you. Maybe
something hard to say. Maybe you don’t quite know how
to say it. In any case, by the end of the song you’ll be
Strollin’ around and saying it loud!"
Sonic inspiration comes from Keller Williams, John Scofield, The Spin Doctors, Dave Matthews Band, and more. Dueling sax and electric guitar, flavorful dissonance, playful lyrics, funky snare, and a deep pocket - Strollin' has got it all, and right in the nick of time for festival season.
