Today, Nashville’s Lindsay Lou releases “Ready,” the second single from a collection of country-soul inspired songs from the rising singer-songwriter. The song, which premiered on The Bluegrass Situation, and its b-side “Stunt Double,” are available today on all digital platforms, here. Recently highlighted by Rolling Stone as one of the ‘Best Artists We Saw at DelFest 2019,’ Lindsay Lou and her band are currently on their North American summer tour, with headlining shows and festival stops including Camp Greensky, Red Wing Roots Festival, Northwest String Summit, and more. The second release from a collection of new music that Lou has released over the past month, “Ready” explores the reclamation of love and light, after a time darkness – whether seasonally or politically. Lou explains, ““Ready’ is about coming out of the darkness of doubt into the jubilation of knowing love is within us and all around us. Living in that light is empowering, but in the haze of hate speech and the endless broadcasting of bad news it can be easy to lose sight. Reclamation of love and finding faith in the ebb and flow feels like Mother Nature breathing new life into barren branches after a long winter.”
Lindsay Lou has been making soulful, poignant music for the last decade. An undeniable powerhouse, Lou’s remarkable gifts as a singer, songwriter, musician and performer demand the listener’s attention. Rolling Stone recently described Lou’s commanding stage performance, “the sheer beauty of Lou’s performance resides in her magnetic presence onstage, something amplified into the ether amid her status as a rapidly rising songwriter in an electric band. Over the past month, Lou released four new songs as sets of double-sided singles, including “Keep On Going”, and it’s b-side, “The Great Defender,” on May 9th, and today sees the release of the second set of new songs, “Ready” and “Stunt Double.” As a follow up to her most recent album, Southland, this collection of songs gives a glimpse into where Lou and her band have been -- and where they are going -- highlighting the masterful playing, fierce intensity and tender intimacy that has become Lou’s signature.
