Park House and Listen Up Denver! are teaming up to present SoulFax Sessions every Thursday Night at Park House. Park House is a restaurant and bar that opened a few months ago in the old PS 1515 Catering House at the corner of Colfax and Madison, and the music loving owners have remodeled the place beautifully. Given the size (capacity 242), the warm environment, and the eager team in charge, this event has the potential to become a weekly fixture on every Denver music lovers calendar.
SoulFax Sessions brings together a staggering group of talented musicians from some of the most danceable, fun, and up-and-coming bands Denver’s vibrant music scene has to offer. Each week will feature a diverse line-up of 3-5 musicians culled from a roster over over 30 local musicians who currently are involved in the project. The vision is to have the Park House bumping every Thursday night as these great musical minds bringing live music and dancing to a section of Colfax that recently lost Rock Bar. All these musicians will be approaching the night with Funk and Soul in mind as they aim to get people’s feet moving on the dance floor.
At the time of this release, SoulFax Sessions will feature members of: Great American Taxi, Leftover Salmon, The Congress, Fox Street All-Stars, YAMN, Kinetix, ATOMGA and The Whales, with appearances and sit-ins by many others. The best part is that these line-ups will allow members of different bands to play together, encouraging collaboration among the community of amazing musicians we have here in Denver.
The first “SoulFax Session” on Thursday January 10th will feature: Jonathan Meadows (The Congress), Mark Levy (The Congress/Bonfire Dub), Jonah Wisneski (The Whales) and Jack Watson (The Oak Creek Band).
SoulFax Sessions are FREE and will feature weekly drink specials and giveaways.
