SXSW will spotlight more New Orleans acts than ever next week, a crop that spans everything from jazz, folk and pop to death metal, indie rock and bounce. At the top that list sits New Orleans' ambassadors of funk, Ivan Neville's DUMPSTAPHUNK.

No strangers to the national festival circuit, this is Dumpstaphunk's first appearance at SXSW in support of their new album, Dirty Word. Slated for a May 2013 release, Dirty Word tests the boundaries of funk music with a little help from Dumpsta's friends and family Art Neville, Rebirth Brass Band, Trombone Shorty, Ani DiFranco and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on select tracks. Just in time for SXSW, the band recently released two new singles on their website, "Blues Wave" and "Raise The House" feat. Art Neville, Trombone Shorty and Rebirth Brass Band [Download WAV Files].
