After a summer of appearances at some of America’s largest music festivals and a recent sold-out performance at Atlanta’s Terminal West, the Oyster Bay, New York quartet TAUK is proud to announce the release of their new dual-disc album, HEADROOM. Known for their explosive live performances, the album showcases tracks from the heavy instrumental rock-fusion onslaught recorded during their 2015 non-stop touring schedule. This fall, TAUK continue their cross-country trek in support of HEADROOM with dates across the US (see below for a full list of performances).
HEADROOM, mixed by Grammy-winning producer Robert Carranza (Mars Volta, Jack Johnson) features 16 hard-hitting technically inspired instrumental tracks including a jam-rendition of Nirvana’s classic “In Bloom”. The album seamlessly blends a mix of transcendent melodic rock, fusion, funk, progressive rock, hip hop and jazz into a two-disc exhibition of hand selected performances recorded at The NorVa (Norfolk, VA), The National (Richmond, VA), The Madison Theater (Covington, KY), The Ritz (Raleigh, NC), Iron Works (Buffalo, NY), The Southern (Charlottesville, VA), AURA Music Festival (Live Oak, FL), and Terminal West (Atlanta, GA).
For HEADROOM, TAUK teamed up with STS9’s self-owned record label 1320 Records. On September 3rd, 2015, the label will offer an exclusive 24-hour pre-release of the album for streaming and for sale via download through their website, 1320records.com. The next day, on September 4th, 2015, the album will be available digitally through TAUK’s online retail stores at taukband.com, the Homegrown Music Network at homegrownmusic.net, and all major online retailers. The album will also be physically available at all TAUK concerts. In celebration of the band’s new relationship with 1320, the label will be offering TAUK’s previous Carranza produced studio releases, Collisions (2014) and Homunculus (2013), for $5 download for two weeks only (8/6 - 8/20). TAUK joins other innovative marquee acts such Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic, Emancipator, The Glitch Mob in embracing the principles of collaboration, cooperation, and community that 1320 has been working to build.
