Ahead of their anticipated album release, Buffalo’s own Organ Fairchild has unveiled a new single, a reimagined version of Harry Styles' "Canyon Moon." This single serves as the second release from their upcoming album "Songs We Didn’t Write," set to debut on June 7. The new track is now available on radio and streaming services.
The album, available for pre-order, will be released in multiple formats including 180-gram vinyl, CD, and digital. It features inventive covers of iconic tracks like The Grateful Dead’s "Lost Sailor" and Otis Redding’s "Hard to Handle," with a special appearance by Jorma Kaukonen.
"Canyon Moon" has been transformed into a soaring instrumental piece by the organ trio, with production by Justin Guip, known for his work with Hot Tuna and Levon Helm, and mastering by Alan Evans of Soulive.
Dave Ruch, the band's guitarist, shared insights into the choice of the Harry Styles song: "Our drummer Corey Kertzie's daughter is a huge Harry Styles fan. She introduced us to this wonderful track that has now become a signature Organ Fairchild tune. We owe her thanks!"
