PEAK, the Brooklyn-based jamband featuring guitarist Jeremy Hilliard (Turbine), drummer Kito Bovenschulte (Particle), bassist Josh T. Carter (Hayley Jane and The Primates), and keyboardist Johnny Young (Mick Taylor Band), is thrilled to announce the release of their third full-length studio album, Vanishing Skies, on January 31, 2025. The record will be available in digital formats, as well as on vinyl and CD.

Recorded at Horizon Sound in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Vanishing Skies was engineered by Michelle Young and mixed/mastered by Jason “Jocko” Randall. Building on the critical success and fan support of their 2021 album, Choppy Water, PEAK continues to refine its fusion of modern psychedelic funk, indie Americana, and nuanced jazz harmony. With songs written by Jeremy Hilliard and Johnny Young, except for “Missionary Ridge” (co-written with Carter and Bovenschulte), this new album sees PEAK exploring deeper grooves and thoughtful melodies while maintaining the adventurous spirit that has become the band’s hallmark.

The album’s cover art is by Michael Wetzel, with graphic design by Kiki Vassillikis. Vanishing Skies comprises 11 tracks, including “In My Mind I’m Already Gone,” “Waiting for the Waves to Reach the Shore,” and “Missionary Ridge.” The arrangements highlight PEAK’s signature blend of improvisational flair and catchy songwriting, with Hilliard’s and Young’s alternating lead vocals adding range and dimension to the listening experience.

Hot on the heels of the Vanishing Skies release, PEAK will introduce a companion EP, Fading Embers: Vanishing Skies Bonus Tracks, released on February 28, 2025. This follow-up project features two additional Hilliard/Young originals, “If We Can Make It Through The Night” and “Penny,” alongside a fresh interpretation of Woody Guthrie’s classic “Pastures of Plenty,” showcasing the band’s respect for tradition while continuing to push their sound in new directions.
