Parker Barrow: Electrifying Southern Rock with Blues Roots

Taking their name from the infamous outlaw duo Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, Parker Barrow is a powerhouse, blues-infused Southern rock band led by vocalist Megan Kane and her husband, drummer Dylan Turner. The pair's fateful meeting in 2019 sparked an instant connection, and within just two weeks, they formed an acoustic duo and hit the road full-time—a journey they have continued ever since. In 2023, Parker Barrow expanded into a full band, adding musical director and guitarist Alex Bender, solidifying their vibrant sound.

Parker Barrow's music is a unique blend of rock, Southern rock, blues, soul, and country—all wrapped in a style that is unmistakably their own. Megan Kane grew up listening to old-school country legends like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton, while Dylan Turner was influenced by classic rock icons such as the Allman Brothers and the Rolling Stones, as well as contemporary blues-rock acts like the Black Crowes and Tedeschi-Trucks Band.

The band's debut album, Jukebox Gypsies, was written by Kane and Turner and released in August 2023 to rave reviews. The album chronicles the couple's journey over the past four years, from their first meeting to life on the road, living out of an RV. Each song captures the ups and downs of their nomadic lifestyle and reflects their emotional experiences. Their debut single, "Count Your Dollars," kicked off the album's release, while the follow-up track, "Back to Birmingham," racked up over 1.1 million views on YouTube.

"Megan and I both draw inspiration from many different places, but one that we both draw from is each other," says Turner. "We grew up in different places and experienced life in very different ways, but that has allowed each of us to see the other side of the coin." Kane adds, "While the songs were written from a place of passion, part of the beauty of music, and something that attracts both of us to it, is the fact that songs are oftentimes subjective and can mean anything to anyone at any time."

Parker Barrow has become well known for their electrifying, high-energy live shows, which showcase the dynamic interplay between Turner's rhythmic drumming, Kane's powerful vocals, and Bender's spirited guitar work. Their live performances are further elevated by additional guitarists and a bassist, with an expanded lineup often including keyboards and backing vocalists. Since hitting the road together in 2019, the band has played over 600 shows, honing their craft and establishing themselves as a must-see live act with infectious energy and captivating stage presence.

The band's journey continues with a shared vision, genuine passion, and love for life on the road. Turner and Kane are excited to embark on this new chapter with Parker Barrow, whether it's delivering an intimate acoustic set or an exhilarating full-band show.
