In 2023, Poolside, the recording project of producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Paradise, released his fourth studio album Blame It All On Love which was recorded at his home located in the remote enclave of Malibu Hills.  Enter 2025 sadly his hilltop paradise and all his belongings were lost to the blaze of the Los Angeles wildfires.  For his new single – the first since the destructive tragedy- Poolside teams up with Satin Jackets (German producer Tim Bernhardt) for “Pull Together” out now on Ninja Tunes’ Counter Records.

The sunny, daytime disco vibes Poolside is known for are not lost here.  “Pull Together” is a heartfelt, uplifting track, drenched in danceable, finger-snapping beats and sweet groove basslines.  Its message is clear, tapping into the need for coming together to ‘pull together.’

Wishing like these dreams would last forever

Way up in the hills, we found our treasure

Holding tight to keep it all together

We’ll pull together—put back together

Wishing like these dreams would last forever

Drifting in the wind, lost like feather

Watching as these dreams get torn and scattered

We’ll pull together—put back together

You’ve got me feeling up —

We’re gonna keep rising to the top

“Tragedy and art have always been old friends. I understood that before, but now—I live it,” shares Poolside. “Losing a home changes you, but it also opens a door to create something from the ruins. What started as loss became a cycle—pain feeding art, art feeding healing. And now, the beginning of the new beginning—for me, and for Poolside. I could throw in a cliché about rising from the ashes, but I’d rather just look ahead…I’m dropping a single with my friend Satin Jackets to mark the start of this next chapter. It’s called “Pull Together” —inspired by…the way Los Angeles has Pulled Together to help each other out.”

Shared the Los Angeles Times on their reporting of musicians who lost their homes to the fires, “Jeffrey Paradise, founder of the L.A. electronic act Poolside, had moved his home and recording studio into the Malibu hills three years ago. His house was a favorite hangout of the Grateful Dead in the ’70s, built with wood salvaged from the Venice Beach pier. He loved hosting musician friends from Highland Park for weekendlong writing sessions.  ‘We’ve been on tour for years, so this was our sanctuary whenever we got back,’ Paradise said. ‘Bob Dylan had a place nearby. I’d run into Anthony Kiedis at cafes. Gene Simmons and Seal were my neighbors. We absolutely loved this house.’  But now his street is ‘a war zone, I’ve never seen anything like it, just an acid-trip nightmare hellscape,’ Paradise said. ‘Everything is gone. The enormity of it all is hard to comprehend. I can’t even feel it yet. This is going to be our reality for years.’  Read more of the story here.
