Florida’s favorite reggae festival – and now the largest touring festival in the country – has just announced their complete lineup for 2023! Entering its eight year, Reggae Rise Up Florida will return to Vinoy Park in Downtown St. Petersburg, FL, over the March 16-19 weekend for four sun-soaked days of music and fun! Produced by Live Nite Events, Reggae Rise Up has become an undisputed staple of Florida’s festival calendar, hosting almost every imaginable name in reggae and seeing hundreds of thousands of fans through its gates since its inception in 2015.
Located just across the bay from Tampa and adjacent to the new landmark St. Pete Pier in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, the site of Reggae Rise Up Florida provides the perfect balance of laid-back coastal culture coupled with the excitement of an established downtown arts and entertainment scene in a major metropolitan city.
As far as destinations go, few compete with St. Petersburg; a plethora of options for culinary adventures, an abundance of choices for both plush and budget-friendly accommodations, and an endless list of exciting off-site activities – all providing for the perfect Spring setting to host a weekend-long music festival in Florida!
The festival’s 2023 lineup continues the tradition of coalescing the brightest lights in reggae (and beyond) but kicks it up a notch to ensure their dedicated community of fans continue their annual pilgrimage from all over the world.
After last year’s massive success, Reggae Rise Up has added a fourth day to the festival weekend. Kicking things off and headlining the additional offering are two notable pioneers of the genre – 311 and Dispatch – both of which are new additions to the already massive roster of artists to play the Rise Up stage over the years.
Friday night’s top-line acts – Rebelution and Sublime with Rome – highlight SoCal’s undeniable influence on the genre while Saturday night’s headliners – Damian Jr. Gong Marley and Koffee – pay respect to both the cultural and geographic roots of reggae and its deep ties to Rastafari.
Reggae Rise Up Florida closes out the weekend in a blaze on Sunday night with headlining hip-hop heavyweight and cannabis icon Wiz Khalifa alongside longstanding RRU veterans Dirty Heads.
Beyond the impressive list of headliners, each day of the festival provides a well-rounded lineup of fan-favorites and mid-tier acts – including Pepper, The Movement, and Matisyahu – along with a sought-after selection of upcoming talent to the scene, all designed to ensure that there’s something for everyone at Reggae Rise Up Florida 2023!
