Rising UK Artist Paris Paloma Releases Debut Album Cacophony Featuring Viral Single “labour” and Exploring Themes of Power, Love, and Survival

Today, UK-based artist Paris Paloma unveils her highly anticipated debut album Cacophony, a striking collection of 15 tracks that delve into themes of love, grief, death, and power. The album features the viral, Billboard-charting single “labour,” which resonated deeply with women around the globe, sparking tens of thousands of TikToks in response and amassing over 160 million streams on Spotify.

Cacophony is a body of work that ranges from the tender and heartbreaking to the sublimely aggressive and vengeful, drawing from influences of dark pop, folk, and indie music. Paris Paloma's evocative sound and rousing lyrics create an album that feels primal, powerful, and innately feminine.

The album release is accompanied by the premiere of the music video for “last woman on earth,” a haunting track that brings attention to the global epidemic of violence against women. Paris explains, “‘last woman on earth’ speaks to the constant terror of being a woman, wishing for my body to be delivered to nature and to move through the world safely in life and rest peacefully in death. The song pleads to escape the sexual violence and exploitation of women’s bodies within the patriarchy and implores male listeners to feel the same urgency regarding women’s safety.”

Alongside Cacophony, Paris Paloma encourages fans to join her in a #dayofcacophony celebration with activities and events across the world, including a special in-store appearance at Morocco Bound Bookshop in London and signings at St John’s Church with Banquet Records, Rough Trade Bristol, and Rough Trade Liverpool.

Cacophony also features previous singles such as “the warmth,” “boys, bugs and men,” “my mind (now),” “drywall,” “as good a reason,” “yeti,” and the breakout hit “labour.” The album thoughtfully addresses isolation (“pleaser”), community (“his land”), and the celebration of womanhood (“knitting song”), while also exploring what Paris refers to as “the apocalypse songs” (“Triassic love song,” “escape pod,” and “bones on the beach”), which narrate the journey from despair to survival and self-growth.

Paris Paloma has already captivated audiences with performances on BBC’s Later…with Jools Holland and The Kelly Clarkson Show, receiving critical acclaim from major outlets including The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Boston Globe, PAPER, Bust, CNN, NME, Billboard, and Trackstar. Recognized as YouTube’s Trending Artist on the Rise and Spotify’s Juniper Artist to Watch, Paris continues to ascend, selling out headline tours and performing alongside icons like Stevie Nicks.

Earlier this year, Paris honored her devoted fan community with a new version of “labour,” titled “LABOUR (the cacophony),” featuring over 100 fan vocals. This reimagined version has quickly become a sensation, amassing millions of views across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Cacophony is deeply shaped by Paris Paloma’s life, yet it is equally inspired by literature, mythology, art history, and the Romantics. The album’s title, drawn from Stephen Fry’s Mythos, reflects the chaotic creativity that birthed this powerful debut. “From this chaotic cosmic yawn, creation sprang forth,” Paris shares. “This collection makes sense of the overwhelming space of my mind where my anxiety, my OCD, and trauma processing live.”
