Shoe Fest is thrilled to announce the lineup for its 13th annual celebration, taking place over Labor Day weekend (August 30 – September 1, 2024) at the picturesque Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See in Manteno, IL. This year’s festival will feature multiple-time Grammy winner Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, as well as newcomers Ghost-Note and Neighbor. The event will also see the return of long-time favorites Cornmeal, featuring Allie Kral for the first time in 12 years, and the Kyle Hollingsworth Band from The String Cheese Incident. Host band Old Shoe, The Last Revel, Chicago Farmer & the Fieldnotes, Mr. Blotto, and many more will also grace the stages.
Shoe Fest has a rich history of hosting some of the biggest names in roots and Americana music, with past performances by legends such as David Grisman, The Wood Brothers, Leftover Salmon, Keller Williams, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Jeff Austin, Melvin Seals, Kitchen Dwellers, Sierra Hull, Eric Krasno, Stanton Moore, The Travelin’ McCourys, Fruition, Elephant Revival, and many more.
A Weekend of Music, Art, and Community
Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, a stunning 200-acre venue, offers the perfect setting for this three-day camping event, complete with big tree shade, a crystal-clear creek, showers, bathrooms, and family camping areas. Shoe Fest is more than just a music festival; it's a celebration of community, creativity, and the spirit that unites us all through art, nature, and world-renowned live music.
Family-Friendly Fun
Shoe Fest 2024 is proud to expand its family activities, including sets of music by Mr. Dave Music For Kids and the Future of Rock Showcase, Painting With the Shoe Kids by Jon Griffin, the 4th Annual Shoe Duck Race, Kung Fu for Kids, Joyfulbubbles, and more. Each morning, a “kids tribe” will be organized, allowing children to meet new friends and participate in activities such as hikes, face painting, crafts, and other fun events. A workshop for building percussive instruments will also be available for families to enjoy together.
Art and History Come Alive
In addition to incredible music, Shoe Fest attendees can expect a vibrant array of art installations, including live painting, vinyl record art, decorative pieces, and innovative lighting throughout the grounds. The festival is set against the historical backdrop of Rock Creek, once home to Potawatomi Chief Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, adding a rich cultural experience to the event.
Community Partnerships and Vendors
Shoe Fest is committed to giving back to the community, with a portion of proceeds supporting treasured Camp Shaw and partnerships with local non-profits such as the Illinois Native Plant Society and Special Olympics. Attendees will also enjoy an eclectic array of vendors offering handmade clothing, jewelry, and a variety of food options, including vegetarian and vegan choices.
