Sonic Guild Colorado, a local chapter of a national music nonprofit that provides grants, mentoring and industry connections for Colorado musicians, is hosting a free half-day music festival (Love Your Music Fest) in Old Town Square, Fort Collins on August 5.
The diverse line-up includes Colorado bands Pink Fuzz, The Mananas, Lolita, VOLORES (bassist for Flogging Molly), local favorites Lady Denim and more...
Music lovers of all ages are invited to come out and enjoy an evening of live music and community. Attendees can expect an eclectic mix of music genres, including rock, pop, hip-hop and indie, creating a true music discovery experience. The Love Your Music Fest aims to promote local music and cultivate a community of music lovers making an impact as patrons of local music.
“The inaugural Love Your Music Fest features some of Colorado’s most talented acts from across the Front Range,” founding director and event partner, Dani Grant, owner of the Mishawaka Amphitheater. “The Mish Initiative is proud to partner with organizations like Sonic Guild Colorado that are helping support Colorado musicians, in a meaningful way, to grow their careers and amplify our local music scene,” added Grant.
The Love Your Music Fest is free and open to the public and promises to be a fun, family-friendly event. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enjoy the best in local music and support the Colorado music scene. In addition to live music, the event will feature drawings with music-related prizes, a beer garden and dancing. Guests may register in advance to be a part of our drawings throughout the day. Register at www.sonicguild.org/colorado. Founding 100 Sonic Guild Colorado members receive VIP access and free drink tickets at the event.
“Sonic Guild Colorado (formerly Black Fret) is new to Colorado but we’ve been lifting up local artists across the country for over a decade. We are excited to be a part of strengthening the thriving Colorado music ecosystem with our Patrons of Local Music Program,” said Kirsten Vermulen, Executive Director, Colorado Chapter of Sonic Guild. “Our Love Your Music Fest is one of many ways we engage the broader community in showing our love for local music in Colorado,” added Vermulen.
Event partners include Alpine Bank, KRFC, KUNC - The Colorado Sound, Odell Brewing Company, OBC Wine Project, Tito's Vodka, The Mishawaka Initiative, La Crosse Distilling Co, Cheba Hut, and Bohemian Foundation.

ABOUT SONIC GUILD:
Sonic Guild Colorado builds communities to support the creation and performance of exceptional local music. Founded in 2013, Sonic Guild is a public charity headquartered in Austin with chapters in Colorado, Seattle, Austin and the Ozarks. The organization is an innovative evolution of the age-old symphony patronage model that is focused on supporting popular local music, through our innovative Patrons of Local Music program. Together, Sonic Guild’s membership has supported musicians with over $3.5 million in grants and direct payments since 2013. At least 70% of Colorado artist grants, annually, are awarded to BIPOC, LGTBQ+ and women-led musical groups as a part of our commitment to build a more equitable music industry in our state. In return for annual dues, members enjoy a broad range of private and community events in a multitude of venues and an incredible annual awards show. Grant recipients are selected annually through a year-long process where members, industry advisors and prior grant recipients nominate, see performances by and finally vote on their favorite artists.
Those who wish to join Sonic Guild in any of our chapters may do so at www.sonicguild.org/colorado. With three membership levels of $750 for an individual membership, $1,500 for two or $3,000 for a “party” four-person membership, there are options available for all who truly want to step up to support their local music. Member dues may be made monthly or annually. 80% of dues are tax deductible. Members gain the rights to nominate the bands they love as well as vote for the allocation of grant dollars at the end of the season. They are also invited to the dozens of private events held in each chapter every year. Those not ready to join Sonic Guild or those who wish to support the Sonic Guild mission before a chapter exists in their town may donate at www.sonicguild.org.
