Today, roots dub reggae artist Scott Woodruff, aka Stick Figure, dropped “Easy Runaway” - a lush new single inspired by mid-tempo electronica. “Easy Runaway” was written, recorded, and produced by Woodruff and is the second track to be released from a forthcoming album that is currently in the works. Yesterday, fans heard an exclusive first listen of the track when it premiered on SiriusXM The Joint. “Easy Runaway” is now available on iTunes and on all major streaming services, including Spotify, with the official lyric video available for viewing on YouTube. Stick Figure is currently headlining dates across North America with many shows already sold out in advance. A full list of announced winter tour dates is below.
The lyric video for “Easy Runaway” features pristine and emotive scenes that explore mother earth. The viewer is led through snow-capped mountains, flower-filled meadows, and powerful waterfalls as the track’s breezy melody unfolds. The song’s positive and reassuring lyrics mirror Stick Figure’s overarching message to his fans which is to find solace in music, and to use it to overcome life’s challenges. It’s Woodruff’s ability to channel sonic relief that has contributed to his die-hard following. The new album will follow his heavily praised 2015 release Set in Stone, which hit number one on the Billboard and iTunes Reggae Charts.
On tour, Stick Figure features Woodruff, Kevin Bong “KBong” (keyboards), Kevin Offitzer (drums), Johnny Cosmic (percussion/ guitar/ keyboard), and Tommy Suliman (bass). Together, the hard-jamming musicians will kick off a headlining winter tour with support from Twiddle and Iya Terra. The tour weaves the band across North America and has already sold out several dates including shows at Delmar Hall (St. Louis, MO), Slowdown (Omaha, NE), Roseland Theater (Portland, OR), Crystal Bay Club (Crystal Bay, NV), and Fremont Theater (San Luis Obispo, CA). Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased through the official Stick Figure website stickfiguremusic.com.
