Z2 Entertainment and 97.3 KBCO are proud to welcome acclaimed singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams & Her Band to Chautauqua Auditorium on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Renowned for her masterful songwriting, distinctive vocals, and resilience in the face of adversity, Williams returns to the stage following her critically lauded sixteenth studio album, Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart, and the release of her new memoir, Don’t Tell Anybody the Secrets I Told You.

Despite suffering a debilitating stroke in November 2020, Williams has emerged with some of the strongest work of her career—both in the studio and onstage. Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart marks a triumphant chapter in her decades-long musical journey, showcasing her remarkable vocal prowess and ever-evolving storytelling talent. The uplifting new tracks capture Williams’ unbreakable spirit and the healing power of community, underscoring the support she found from her musical family and fans worldwide.

During her recovery, Williams devoted herself to writing as a form of physical and emotional rehabilitation. She collaborated extensively with her husband, manager, and co-producer Tom Overby and friends like singer-songwriter Jesse Malin and guitarist Travis Stephens, crafting songs that channel personal experiences and celebrate the rich tapestry of American roots music. Recorded alongside renowned musicians including Stuart Mathis, Reese Wynans, Steve Ferrone, Doug Pettibone, and Steve Mackey—and featuring guest vocals by Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, Margo Price, Buddy Miller, and others—Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart is a testament to Williams’ unwavering dedication to her art.

“I’m singing my ass off,” Williams told Vanity Fair, alluding to her revitalized approach following her stroke. “Just the energy of the audiences being so welcoming and warm, and the band playing so great and being so supportive, gave me so much strength. I figured, ‘Hell, all I have to do is stand up there and sing. How hard can that be?’”

From her introspective reflections on the late Tom Petty (“Stolen Moments”) and Bob Stinson (“Hum’s Liquor”) to the rollicking spirit of “Let’s Get the Band Back Together,” Williams’ new album exemplifies the passion and honesty that have earned her multiple Grammy Awards and a reputation as one of America’s most treasured songwriters. Her resilience is equally evident in her live performances: having conquered rehab, she’s back onstage—no longer playing her beloved guitar but delivering vocals with more power than ever before.

Tickets for Lucinda Williams & Her Band at Chautauqua Auditorium go on sale Friday, March 21 at 10am. Don’t miss the chance to witness this legendary artist’s triumphant return to the stage and hear the next chapter in a remarkable musical legacy.
