Z2 Entertainment & 97.3 KBCO are proud to present Steve Earle – one of America’s most revered and influential singer-songwriters – for a special solo, acoustic performance celebrating fifty incredible years of songs and stories. Taking place at the historic Chautauqua Auditorium on Monday, July 21, 2025, this unforgettable evening will showcase the artistry and authenticity that have made Steve Earle a legend in the Americana and country music realms.

Few artists can claim the kind of legacy that Steve Earle has crafted over five decades. Mentored by iconic songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Earle emerged as a formidable storyteller in his own right, penning songs recorded by luminaries including Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, and The Pretenders. His 1986 release, Guitar Town, shot to the top of the country charts and is widely hailed as a classic of the Americana genre. In 2023, Earle’s enduring 1988 hit Copperhead Road was officially recognized as a state song of Tennessee.

Over the years, Earle’s passion and prolific output have continued unabated. Albums like The Revolution Starts…Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009) received consecutive GRAMMY® Awards. His most recent album, Alone Again (Live), dropped on July 12, 2024, underscoring his standing as a tireless creative force. Alongside this celebrated musical career, Earle has written a novel, I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive (2011), and a collection of short stories, Dog House Roses (2003), both published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Earle’s influence extends behind the scenes as well. He famously produced landmark recordings such as Joan Baez’s Day After Tomorrow and Lucinda Williams’s Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. On screen, he has appeared in several films and maintained recurring roles in HBO’s The Wire and Tremé. In 2009, he took to the off-Broadway stage in Samara, composing a score praised by The New York Times as “exquisitely subliminal.” His original music for Coal Country earned him a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020 and honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music in 2023, Earle continues to share his musical insights as host of the weekly Hard Core Troubadour show on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country channel.

Now, audiences in Boulder have a rare opportunity to experience fifty years of Earle’s storied career in an intimate, solo acoustic setting. Join us at Chautauqua Auditorium on July 21, 2025, for an unforgettable evening of classic hits, fresh favorites, and the unvarnished storytelling of a true American original.
