Tropic Harbour Set to Release New EP Colour February 4
You are cordially invited to Tropic Harbour, a utopian place imagined by Mark Berg for peace of mind.This head-space has become the moniker for Berg's hazy dream-pop creations, which use nostalgic images and visions of the coast as inspiration. The first offering from comes in the form of his debut EP "Colour," which being released February 4 on Zappruder Records.
Berg's music is written as a mental escape, an outlet through which he is able to depart his wintery hometown of Edmonton, Ontario. Tropic Harbour became a reality after Mark released his first single, "Colour" in 2013, attracting attention and praise.
A true Commonwealther with Brit-rock and post-punk influences, Berg tries to recreate the dreamlike textures and summery tones that he sees in his mind with sound. With a voice reminiscent of the legend Morrissey and experimental melodies that bring to mind Tame Impala, Duck Tails and Youth Lagoon, Berg offers the listener a contemplative respite from everyday life.
