Performing alongside Haynes (vocals, guitar) is the current all-star lineup of the Warren Haynes Band: longtime drummer Terence Higgins (Dirty Dozen Brass Band), Gov’t Mule bassist Kevin Scott, Matt Slocum on keys, and Greg Osby on saxophone.
Just released on November 1 via Fantasy Records, Million Voices Whisper—Haynes’ first solo album in nearly a decade and fourth solo effort—debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Blues Albums Chart. It also entered the Americana/Folk Albums chart at No. 3, Current Rock Albums chart at No. 5, and Top Current Albums Sales chart at No. 29. Already acclaimed as his best work to date, the 11-track collection of soulful blues-rock, produced by Haynes and recorded at Power Station New England, includes the singles “This Life As We Know It” and “Day of Reckoning,” featuring Lukas Nelson and Jamey Johnson. Guest appearances include Haynes’ Allman Brothers Band bandmate Derek Trucks, who contributed to several tracks, including “Real Real Love”—a song whose lyrics were started by Gregg Allman and finished by Haynes in tribute to his late friend.
Million Voices Whisper is available digitally, on CD, as a 2-LP vinyl set, and in a deluxe CD edition featuring four bonus tracks. PRESS HERE to listen and order.
Buzzing throughout the album is the central question of how to make things better—in love, life, and the world—brought to life by Haynes’ soaring vocals and masterful six-string artistry. The album showcases a powerful, soulful collection of tracks that highlight the eloquent musicianship and creative brilliance of a blues-rock icon at the peak of his powers.
On Friday, November 22, Haynes will perform the album’s lead single, “This Life As We Know It,” on ABC’s GMA3: What You Need To Know. Tune in at 1:00 PM ET/PT and 12:00 PM CT on ABC or catch the encore broadcasts at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM ET on ABC News Live.
This Sunday, November 24, Haynes, an Asheville native, will co-host “SOULSHINE”, a benefit concert with the Dave Matthews Band at Madison Square Garden. This sold-out, all-star event will aid relief efforts in Western North Carolina and Florida following Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The lineup includes Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Goose, Trey Anastasio, Mavis Staples, Robert Randolph, Joe Russo, Trombone Shorty, Susan Tedeschi, and Derek Trucks. A free livestream, hosted by YouTube, will broadcast the event worldwide from 7:00–11:00 PM ET at SOULSHINEMSG.COM. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity’s 2024 Hurricane Recovery Fund and local nonprofits.
Following SOULSHINE, Haynes will wrap up the year with Gov’t Mule’s annual New Year’s Run (December 28–31) and launch 2025 with Island Exodus 15 in Jamaica before hitting the road for the Million Voices Whisper 2025 Tour.
