The new album, Sonocardiogram, from Daymé Arocena is a vivid return to her Havana roots. Backed once again by a killer band of fellow Cuban musicians, the visionary singer, composer and songwriter has stripped everything back to the core. Holding sessions in a simple, repurposed artist's studio in Havana, Daymé and her band produced the record themselves, with her taking the reins to make Sonocardiogram her most raw and arresting outing yet.

Robert Earl Keen and Tyler Childers celebrated a series of collaborative performances in Texas last week including a record-breaking 4th of July show in Kerrville, TX. The shows marked the first time the friends have performed together on stage.  Keen and Childers both guested on each other's sets. Keen sang Childers’ “Whitehouse Road” and “Honky Tonk Flame” with Tyler and his band, The Food Stamps. Childers joined Keen’s sets to perform “What I Really Mean” and “Broken End of Love” with Robert and his band. 

The Marcus King Band has just announced a fiery round of new performers for the third annual Family Reunion. Topping the bill for the expanded lineup are Colorado bluegrass pickers Yonder Mountain String Band, Charleston funk and dance players Doom Flamingo, multi-faceted performer Doyle Bramhall II, blues rockers Andy Frasco & The U.N., and more.

Boston’s Independent Radio, 92.5 the River announced Guster will headline the 18th Annual Riverfest Seaside Music Festival.  The 2019 Festival will be held on Sat., August 24, 2019 from 12 noon – 6 pm at its new location at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester, MA.

With just a few weeks until the gates open at the Newport Folk Festival, I find myself thinking about little else, at least musically. I go to a number of festivals and see a lot of shows, but it’s rare that a musical event can rob my attention well before it happens. It’s difficult to describe the festival to those who haven’t been; like anything magical, you really need to experience it for yourself to fully understand why it sells out instantly, without the fanfare of announcements and advertisements. In fact, the last ticket is sold long before the first artist is announced.

Dead & Company brought their Summer Tour 2019 to the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas on Tuesday, July 2nd for a lone stop in the Lone Star State.

Keel has absorbed the best lessons from his Bluegrass family upbringing, both sides deeply steeped in the rich mountain music culture and heritage of Southwest Virginia. From there, he has always integrated that solid musical grounding and natural-born talent with his own incomparable approach to playing amplified, acoustic guitar and composing original music.

Our band and the music have evolved over the years. We feel now, it’s the best its been in a very long time. Zach Nugent contributed to that and we thank him for the last few years. As the men who came before him, we don’t doubt he will succeed in the telling of his own story…channeling the man we all love so much.

Zach will be with us through June, July, and up to August 1 at The Werk Out Festival.

Peter Frampton kicked off his Farewell Tour in Tulsa, the Grammy-winning guitarist is also celebrating another first in his long and distinguished career: All Blues, his first-ever blues album with his Peter Frampton Band, is debuting at #1 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart in the U.S. The new collection, released via UMe, also marks his best overall sales numbers and chart positions since the release of Fingerprints in 2006.
