Back in 2005, Denver's, Polytoxic, wanted to put on a show that could showcase all the great local musicians they had been playing with for the past few years. T Bone Burnett went on record to say 22-year-old "Sahara [Smith] is the best young artist I have heard in many years." Of her last show in Hollywood, the LA Times raved, "her voice hits angelic highs reminiscent of Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris."
