Cascade Equinox has unveiled a bevy of additional programming for its 2024 edition, including the addition of electronic duo Wajatta, daily stage lineups, single-day tickets, ‘Summer Jams’ pre-party series, luxury shuttles, and much more. Set amidst the tranquil landscapes of the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond, Oregon, the cross-genre festival will once again captivate attendees from Friday, September 20 - Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Riverview Jazz has been bringing a diverse array of jazz music to the residents of Jersey City and Hudson County for over ten years. This year's Jersey City Jazz Festival is set to be the largest event yet, featuring 40 performances over 5 days, with an expected attendance of over 20,000 patrons. It will also be the most musically diverse festival to date.
Philadelphia public radio station WXPN announced today that Guster, Trampled by Turtles, Greensky Bluegrass, Julia Pratt and Brittany Ann Tranbaugh have been added to the lineup of its 2024 XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru. They join the 17 previously-announced artists who’ll be performing September 20, 21 and 22 at Wiggins Park on the Camden, New Jersey waterfront, directly across the Delaware River from Philadelphia.

Welcome To Rockville is officially the biggest rock festival in North America, hosting more than 200,000 people and 150 bands on 5 stages for the first time. This year, Rockville also broke records to become the largest event for festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents. Looking ahead, the May 2025 festival dates at Daytona International Speedway will be announced soon.

AVLFest, Asheville’s premier multi-venue music marathon will return for its second annual celebration August 1-4, 2024. Presented by Wicked Weed Brewing and Worthwhile Sounds, the encore to 2023’s knockout inaugural event will welcome over 250 artists across a vast spectrum of genres including rock, Americana, hip-hop, electronic, psychedelic, funk, blues, and more.
Pickathon has announced its lineup of bands for the 2024 Festival, coming August 1-4 to Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, Oregon (12 miles outside of Portland, OR). The festival brings a renewed focus on major headliners, starting with Australian indie rock icon Courtney Barnett. Pickathon has headlining slots with folk group Elephant Revival, soul revivalist Durand Jones, country rock mainstay Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and "Australia's greatest boy band," Vacations.
With a little over a week until the debut of Summer Camp Music Festival’s new concept, Solshine: A Music and Arts Reverie, the festival has revealed set times, two additional stages, late-night sets, mobile app, as well as food/craft vendors and sustainability initiatives. This week, we had the opportunity to sit down with Johnny Buck, the executive director and co-founder of Rooster Walk, to discuss the upcoming Rooster Walk 14. The festival began in 2009 as a tribute to late high school friends Edwin Penn ('the rooster') and Walker Shank. From its inception, the festival has focused on supporting a charity that grants college scholarships to deserving seniors at Martinsville High School and provides instruments and funding to enhance local school band programs.
The High Sierra Music Festival, one of California's longest-running annual music festivals, is celebrating its 32nd year on July 4-7, 2024, in the golden Sierra hills of Quincy. Headliners this year include Ziggy Marley, Primus, and Greensky Bluegrass. They will be joined by a wide variety of bluegrass, jam, Americana, funk, folk, and worldbeat acts on multiple stages at the Plumas County Fairgrounds.
My first visit to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (a.k.a. "Jazzfest") was sort of a happy accident. In 1988, I was a young 20-something Grateful Dead tourhead, and I heard rumors that Little Feat was going to play their first show since the death of Lowell George a decade earlier. The allure was heightened by the fact that the reformed band would play on a riverboat floating on the Mississippi in New Orleans.
