Today, Austin-based musician Danny Golden released his new single “Las Vegas” recorded with Chris Boosahda (best known for his work with Shakey Graves). Glide Magazine praised the song saying “infusing his music with indie rock, pop and Americana, Golden conjures up his own sound that features an appropriate amount of guitar rocking alongside lyrics that resonate as sharply as a strong hangover.” Danny is also about to set out on tour with David Ramirez, full list of tour dates below.

"The song itself is an anti-Western,” Danny explains. "The story I was playing with in my head was about being stuck in Las Vegas forever. I was thinking of someone reliving a groundhog day in Las Vegas and the different potential outcomes. I was imagining what it might be like for someone who was lucky, unlucky, rich, poor etc… Las Vegas is so full of material for artists. It’s a city of luck, sin, pleasure, misdirection, value, and emptiness. To me it's a microcosm of America.”
"I’ve known Chris Boosahda for a few years now but we never had the chance to work together as he was on the road with Shakey Graves 8-9 months out of the year,” Danny continues. "After almost a decade of touring, the pandemic gave him a much needed break from that schedule. He and I were catching up about a year into the pandemic and he mentioned being eager to get recording again. I jumped at the opportunity to work with him.” Additional personnel on the track include guitarist Ben Brown (PR Newman) and bassist Sam Pankey (Balmorhea, Mother Falcon).
“Las Vegas” follows Golden’s recently released 2021 EP Changes. The EP was acclaimed by MXDWN, The Boot, and Under The Radar, who praised it’s “inviting melodies and plainspoken lyrical approach,” along with its “towering layers of shoegaze guitars and crashing percussion.”
