Infamous Stringdusters

Much like its larger sister festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Planet Bluegrass’s RockyGrass is a homecoming for Festivarians far and wide. Not only do families and friends return year after year to dip their toes in the Saint Vrain River and enjoy the finest bluegrass and bluegrass-adjacent music the world has to offer, but world-class musicians also count the days until their return to the Planet Bluegrass Ranch to catch up and collaborate with friends on the legendary Colorado front range stage.

Nestled amidst 800 acres of majestic Spanish moss-draped oak and cypress trees along the Suwannee River, the weekend will be jam-packed with music rooted in Americana, newgrass, bluegrass, folk, blues, and more.

What makes a great festival? Great bands are essential. A beautiful venue with plenty of space to spread out? That’s a bonus. And let’s not forget about vendors with delicious food and unique items to explore. But perhaps most importantly, a great festival has a spirit of community and a setting so inviting you’d visit even without a festival. Enter Bluegrass Island Music Festival in Manteo, North Carolina—probably the best festival you haven’t heard of, until now.
