Pepper

Few bands can claim to have had as profound an impact on the development of a genre as the reggae rock outfit Pepper. With a tenured career, the band has played stages together in four separate decades, but still manages to joke around with each other like brothers at every opportunity.

In this its fifth incarnation, the BeachLife Festival, May 3 to 5, brought a splendid mingling of ocean vibes, colorful people and unique, multi-genre mélange of music to the Seaside Lagoon at Redondo Beach, Calif.

The 2nd annual Mission Bayfest will be taking place for two days on Friday September 29th and Saturday, September 30th, 2023 off the shores of Mission Bay at Mariners Point Park in San Diego. This is the first music festival of its kind dedicated to Mission Bay Park; the largest man-made aquatic park in the United States. With over 7,000 attendees at their previous edition of San Diego Bayfest, the Mission Bayfest team brings an all-new festival to San Diego with a next-level lineup of reggae tastemakers.

Two decades. They've gone by in a blur, filled with soundchecks, encores, album releases, and sold-out shows stretching from the California coastline to the UK mainland. Along the way, Pepper has sharpened its own "Kona dub-rock" sound — a blend of reggae, alternative rock, island rhythms, and punky spirit — while also building a community of fans and likeminded bands.

As fans came to the Monterey Fairgrounds for the second day of the California Roots Festival, it had a day-one energy to it. Some were still recovering from the extra day the festival had been given the day prior, and some filtered in throughout the day as they got off of work for the weekend, but all were excited for what the second day had in store for them.

There are so few bands in the reggae scene that are not only so well known, but universally beloved than the Kona Town heroes themselves, Pepper. Wherever the guys go, they are the most popular people in the room, and for good reason. Their charisma is inarguable and palpable, and their larger-than-life personalities live up to their fans’ hopes who might have only seen them from the stage.

Today, San Diego, CA-based Slightly Stoopid announce the first round of dates for their Summer Traditions 2022  tour — a nod to the summer outdoor amphitheater circuit the band has performed annually since 2007 but hasn’t taken place for the last two years due to the pandemic.

Late-Nite Productions is proud to present "Tahoe Island Vibes", a co-headlining show featuring Pepper and J-Boog and very special guest Vana Liya and DJ Dubfyah live at Montbleu Resort and Casino Showroom. This is taking place on Friday, August 8, 2021 and doors open at 7pm. Advance tickets are available for $39.50 in person at Montbleu Box Office, by phone 775.588.3515, or online www.Ticketmaster.com - $44.50 day of show (plus tax / fee’s)

Reggae has a long history and deep, sacred roots as a music of resistance to the authoritarian establishment — it is protest music we can dance to freely while taking a united stand against political corruption, racism, and social injustice.
