Brooklyn Bowl
New York, NY was treated to a fun night of dancing and covers by Pink Talking Fish last Friday night at the iconic Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood. The show went on late into the night, as the band played two high energy sets. Many dynamite covers were also contributed to the mix by supporting band and new comers, Residual Groove.
This year, New York Public Radio’s annual fundraising event at Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday, September 21 at 7pm will celebrate 40 years of “New Sounds” with John Schaefer and his incomparable contributions to the NYC music scene and beyond. Featuring performances by Brooklyn-based bhangra fusion group Red Baraat and tropical futurism band Combo Chimbita, along with a DJ set by Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan & Georgia Hubley, the fundraiser will support all of New York Public Radio’s brands, including WNYC, WQXR, Gothamist and WNYC Studios.

Last Friday night, Twiddle closed out a fiery one-two punch at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY, building off of the prior night’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities, as well as the birthday celebration of keyboardist Ryan Dempsey. The Vermont based quartet delivered inspiring jams for their dedicated fans who arrived hours before the show began. Papadosio, the Jamtronica squad originally from Athens, Ohio, delivered a scorcher last Saturday for a full house at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY. Their music incorporated a high energy blend of psychedelic rock, jazz, funk and electronica. Five LED display panels sat behind the band members and were synchronized with the lights to elevate the visual elements of the show.
The Floozies brought the funk back to the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY last Friday night. The house was packed with fans thirsty for their eclectic blend of electronica, hip hop, dub step, disco and of course, funk. Phyphr and Daily Bread were on hand to support and round out the high energy dance party.
Boston based avant rock trio The Slip performed for the second night of a rare two night stand at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY last Friday night. The show was part of the first formal tour by this band in over ten years. The band has evolved over the years from a high school jazz band into an edgy experimental rock and jazz fusion that tests the boundaries of jam bands with their art rock style and attention to song writing.
