Joe Russo's Almost Dead

Suwannee Hulaween has unveiled its historic, genre-crossing lineup to celebrate the festival’s tenth anniversary celebration edition, returning home to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida from Thursday, October 26 - Sunday, October 29, 2023.

A brand new music festival is coming to the Catskills this fall, and it promises to be one of the most exciting events of the year. Cave Mountain Catskills Music Festival will take place on September 15-16, 2023 at the beautiful Windham Mountain. With a lineup that includes Weezer, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Dinosaur Jr., Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Albert Hammond Jr., Lee Fields, Courtney Marie Andrews, Sheer Mag, and more, this festival is sure to be a hit with music lovers from all over the region.

Ten year anniversaries are certainly something to celebrate, and that is exactly what Joe Russo's Almost Dead did this past weekend with a four night run of shows in the New York City metro region. The performances were at the Brooklyn Bowl for the first night and the Capitol Theatre for the rest.

Today, Scott Metzger shares a new track, “The Dark Triad.” The song was originally recorded during the sessions that led to the Brooklyn-based guitarist’s solo acoustic album, Too Close To Reason, that was issued via Royal Potato Family earlier this year. Metzger felt the recording didn’t work within the 12-track collection’s sequence, but he loved the performance and ultimately decided to release it as a stand-alone single.

"Unfortunately, JRAD will not be performing our upcoming shows over the New Years holiday at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, CO. As disappointed as we are to relay this to our community of friends and fans, we are hopeful that we can brighten the mood a bit by announcing that we will be back in the summer for our first two night stand at Red Rocks, June 3-4, 2023."

Montclair, NJ was the place to be last Saturday night, as Joe Russo's Almost Dead packed the historic Wellmont Theater to cap off another enjoyable three night run in this vibrant New York City suburb. The line to enter the show wrapped around the corner as dead heads of all ages eagerly awaited a mind melting performance by this talented quintet, and they were not disappointed.

The stardust has settled down so let’s recap the first-ever Sacred Rose Festival. Opening up a new bracket for Chicago by seasoned festival producers, Sacred Rose certainly had some highs and some lows but one thing is for sure Sacred Rose was one for the ages and one we hope will return.

WOLF!, the treasured Brooklyn-based guitarist Scott Metzger's "Telecaster rock trio" with bassist Jon Shaw and drummer Taylor Floreth, returns after a six year hiatus with a new EP, Adult Entertainment, to be released via Royal Potato Family on October 28.

The inaugural Sacred Rose Fest is less than 2 weeks away. For the first time ever there will be a weekend full of music as diverse as the Grateful Dead in its current form. Phil Lesh playing with Nels Cline and Jeff Tweedy as well as Karl Denson, Stu Allen, Grahame Lesh, Jeff Chimenti, and Elliott Peck all in one headlining slot!?! Khruangbin, JRAD, Umphrey’s McGee, Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Elliott Peck’s Midnight North, Holly Bowling, and the Gone Gone Beyond are kicking it all off?!? The list is exciting and inviting.

Where to even begin when trying to tell you about the last ever Northwest String Summit? To put into words what this last gathering was, and the effect that this festival has had on the Northwest over the last 20 years is nearly impossible. After three long years of waiting out a pandemic, this gathering was what everyone’s heart needed. It truly was a labor of love, and you could feel it in every corner of the venue.
