To celebrate the release of The Hip Abduction's new record To the Ends of the Earth (available Aug. 9, pre-order here), the band answered a few questions for Grateful Web. We discussed everything from finding their sound to exploring our country's National Parks. The band has heavy touring ahead so be sure to catch them when they are in your city.

When Relix magazine announced the The Contribution’s debut record, Which Way World (2010), and called them a “jamband supergroup,” they also recognized, “the band serves the songs first and foremost.” Although the band is comprised of some of the scene’s heavy hitters, the first listen to their music reveals their love of 60s pop and soul coupled with their ability to flat-out shred. It is what makes the band appealing to music lovers from all walks of life.

Kendell Marvel is—and will always be—a songwriter, but with his new record Solid Gold Sounds, Marvel has found a golden singing voice to match his highly accomplished songcraft.

“In the past, we’d make a record and then everybody would go their separate ways for awhile,” says Fastball's Miles Zuniga. "But now, we're feeling so excited about the music that it’s ‘How soon can we make another record?’ We’re feeling a sense of urgency about the music that’s really refreshing.”
