Higher Ground Presents and Grace Potter’s Grand Point North music festival are partnering with City Market for a special raffle to help those in need through the work of the Vermont Foodbank. Starting on Thursday, August 1st at 3pm, a donation link will be live on the City Market website that will allow people to purchase a $5 donation entry "ticket". The Vermont Foodbank will receive 100% of every $5 donation.
To celebrate the release of The Hip Abduction's new record To the Ends of the Earth (available Aug. 9, pre-order here), the band answered a few questions for Grateful Web. When Relix magazine announced the The Contribution’s debut record, Which Way World (2010), and called them a “jamband supergroup,” they also recognized, “the band serves the songs first and foremost.” Although the band is comprised of some of the scene’s heavy hitters, the first listen to their music reveals their love of 60s pop and soul coupled with their ability to flat-out shred. Celebrating its 19th year in 2019, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass will return to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on October 4-6. The festival, founded by Warren Hellman in 2001 as a musical gift to the people of San Francisco and the world, celebrates American “roots” music and its many outgrowths. Each year, hundreds of thousands of music fans from around the globe flock to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to do exactly that—celebrate.
