"To my ears, the best Dead shows are those that not only fit the criteria that make them amongst the best of a year, but that are also completely unique for their era—shows that fit perfectly into their year of performance, but also fall somewhat outside of the norm for that year. Harpur College, Veneta, Cornell, Cape Cod, and Augusta are all shows that are objectively excellent, and if they are not the best from their respective years of performance, they are certainly unique.

While millions of people are becoming accustomed to virtual gatherings and live streaming of music events during the current coronavirus pandemic, for the non-profit Melodic Caring Project (www.melodiccaring.org), it has been a way of life throughout its nearly 10-year history. The Seattle-based 501c3 charity has been bringing personalized live music performances by a wide range of touring artists directly to the hospital beds of sick children in various forms of isolation or quarantine since 2011.

Florida’s favorite reggae festival has just announced some lineup adjustments for Reggae Rise Up Florida 2020. Originally scheduled for March 20th-22nd, Reggae Rise Up made the difficult decision to postpone the festival until the fall (October 2nd-4th) just days prior to its commencement amid the growing health concerns surrounding COVID-19. Additionally, in consideration of the lineup changes, the festival has also released new information on ticket exchange procedures for fans who would now like to swap their tickets for a different day.

Electric Forest (EF) announced today that based on input from state and local authorities regarding public gatherings amid the COVID-19 pandemic it has cancelled its 2020 event. The beloved music and camping festival, which sold out within one hour of its public on sale last December, was scheduled to celebrate its 10th anniversary June 25-28, 2020 in Rothbury, Michigan.
