You could say that Chris Castino is a writer of dance music. Not the kind you hear at any club. It’s the kind you hear at a Dead show, or festivals, when the crowd moves together spinning and bouncing like an ocean of blissful and emancipated souls. Chris is the primary songwriter for his longtime popular Minnesota-based rock’n’roll jamband The Big Wu.

Summer Camp Music Festival organizers announced the first round of artists confirmed to perform at the festival, which is returning to Memorial Day Weekend in 2022. These artists join previously announced headliners Smashing Pumpkins, Little Feat (performing their classic album, Waiting For Columbus) and Liquid Stranger, who were revealed last week in anticipation for this full Round 1 announcement. Founded two decades ago by Jay Goldberg Events and Entertainment, the annual festival has hosted countless musicians spanning every genre. This year is no different with the following acts: moe.

Palm Springs Life has announced the debut of the Oasis Music Festival presented by Agua Caliente Casinos. It will take place from Wednesday, January 26, through Sunday, January 30, 2022. The Oasis Music Festival will include all genres of music and will take place at more than thirty live entertainment venues throughout Palm Springs.

Good, stand-the-test-of-time love songs tend to come from unlikely origin stories, but until The Wooks’ founder CJ Cain wrote “Flyin’ High,” from their upcoming album of the same name, not one of them has been inspired by the crash landing of a buddy’s World War I bi-plane. “He had bought this plane at a good price and would soon find out why,” says Cain. “He lost oil pressure and had to take her down in front of his family who had gathered in the yard to watch him buzz the farm.
