Platinum-Selling, Iconic Alt Band Violent Femmes has announced that they will be performing an exclusive livestream from The Levitt Pavilion Denver on Sunday, May 21 at 9 PM ET via Veeps on Violent Femmes Livestream. This live show will feature their trailblazing, self-titled, debut album from cover to cover as part of the record’s 40th anniversary tour.

On the whole, unless a campfire is involved I’m a homebody at night. If night involves the rain, all the more reason to stay home. But last night I found myself sitting front and nearly center for Boulder’s new Fuqua Shaw Rabin Jazz Trio’s first ever appearance at R Gallery + Wine Bar. Their first set flew by, the rain kept coming down, I was on foot, and didn’t even care. The second set was even better.

This year, after four years and 60 million dollars of renovation, the 2023 Beale Street Festival reopened in Tom Lee Park along the riverside in downtown Memphis Tennessee. At the height of Beale Street's popularity in 2017, the event saw 37,000 fans crowd the park. Attendance numbers this year were smaller and saner, with crowds of around 10,000 daily. This was in part a deliberate effort to keep the newly planted park-plants from being trampled into oblivion.

And, thanks to an endless supply of PF tribute bands, you can bet it will be played again and again and again, well into the distant future.
