15x ACM Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Chris Stapleton won Entertainer of the Year at last night’s 58th Annual ACM Awards. This is Stapleton’s first-time winning ACM Entertainer of the Year, qualifying him for the coveted ACM Triple Crown Award, which celebrates artists who have won ACM New Male/Female Artist of the Year, Male/Female Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

“Getting to play music for a living is wild, but getting to work with friends on such fun projects makes me fall in love with music all over again,” says ACM-nominated vocalist and songwriter Sunny Sweeney. In this case, her friends are fellow powerhouse artists Rissi Palmer, Miko Marks, and Tami Neilson. And the project she is referring to?

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, McKinley first began singing at age eight in the choir at his family's Baptist church. Growing up, he imbibed his Kentucky-born father's LPs, listening to artists like Hank Williams and George Jones, as well as Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, and Van Morrison. By his teens, he was playing guitar and singing in punk bands. However, in his twenties he began writing his own songs, gravitating toward rootsy country and soul sounds, mixing it with his varied rock influences. A troubled period involving drugs waylaid his career and found him moving away from music.

Denver-based String-Americana group The Sweet Lillies continue to roll out their fourth studio album Equality with the release “Clear Water” available today via Americana Vibes. Keeping the theme of self-exploration and evolution of the spirit, the track reflects on guitarist, Dustin Rohleder’s upbringing on a family farm and the merger between one’s past and present to become their true self.
