The New York Society for Ethical Culture and Music on The Inside (MOTI) are proud to present our annual Juneteenth celebration, a benefit concert that unites formerly incarcerated musicians with top jazz artists for a powerful tribute to emancipation through music. This event underscores the ongoing fight for criminal and social justice in the United States.

Coming June 14, 2024, Smithsonian Folkways will release The Complete Friends of Old-Time Music Concert by Bessie Jones, John Davis & The Georgia Sea Island Singers with Mississippi Fred McDowell and Ed Young, presenting a riveting, historic look at the intersection of Black folk traditions and civil rights activism.

Madeline Hawthorne’s new album Tales From Late Nights & Long Drives is out everywhere today. The new collection of songs was produced by the famed Ryan Hadlock (Zach Bryan, The Lumineers, Vance Joy) and recorded at Bear Creek Studios near Seattle, WA.

Founding Allman Brothers Band drummer Jaimoe will join Friends of the Brothers for a series of shows this summer after his triumphant return to the stage with them April 27 at the SHU Community Theater in Fairfield Connecticut on April 27. That was Jaimoe’s first on-stage appearance since January 2023. Jaimoe is the last surviving original member of the Allman Brothers Band following Dickey Betts’ April 18 death,
