Stax Records and Craft Recordings announce Johnnie Taylor, One Step From the Blues, a new collection featuring a dozen heart-breaking songs of passion and betrayal from the gospel-soul-R&B singer.

JD McPherson returns with Nite Owls on September 27 via New West Records. The 10-song set was produced by McPherson and is his first album of original songs in six years. Nite Owls follows his critically acclaimed 2017 studio album Undivided Heart & Soul as well as 2018’s universally praised holiday collection SOCKS.

Today, Austin-based singer-songwriter William Harries Graham announced his fourth full-length album Annie’s House due out October 25 via Strolling Bones Records. The album, Graham’s debut on the label, is a blend of Americana, rock 'n' roll, and folk, which showcases his storytelling prowess, weaving personal and vivid memories into his music. Along with the announcement, Graham unveiled the album’s lead single “Ohio State,” which encapsulates the album’s thematic exploration of love, nostalgia, and personal growth.

On October 18th, 2024, the acclaimed blues singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jerron Paxton will release his next album, Things Done Changed on Smithsonian Folkways. Once described as "virtually the only music-maker of his generation—playing guitar, banjo, piano, and violin, among other implements—to fully assimilate the blues idiom of the 1920s and '30s” by the Wall Street Journal, the thirty-five-year-old’s latest collection is his first of all original songs.
